Thirty members joined Zoom for Rachel Torrence’s talk, The Creeping Terror: Algae Management in the Planted Aquarium. Algae is unfortunately an inevitable part of having a planted tank. The only thing you can do to manage algae is to make your tank algae-unfriendly.

March Meeting

Dennis Wong joined us via Zoom to speak to 17 members about Keystones in Constructing a Diorama: how to inject scale and detail into an aquascape. According to Dennis, there has been an increase in use of and focus on technical hardscaping in the hobby. He gave a live demonstration using an example diorama and talked through his creative process.

February Meeting

Chris Teem from the Little Rock Zoo spoke to thirty people about paludariums via Zoom on February 27, 2021. A paludarium is a combination of a terrarium and an aquarium. It can be used to create a snapshot of a location, like a river bank. Paludariums are a great way to showcase a specific biotope and are often vibrant and colorful.
