The International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society will be having their annual meeting in New York later this year. Date and location to be announced. Their meeting is usually in the summer, I think August. If you are interested in this sort of thing I would recommend joining them. They have a nice website and publication and an extensive plant database you can search
