We went to Virginia Beach for a few days, and since we had some time to kill, we decided to check out some fish stores. I was not expecting much, but I was really impressed by what I saw. Here is where we went and what the highlights were. Keep in mind, they are all good size stores with a wide selection of live things.
Aquariums Unlimited - large saltwater display tank with sharks et al. that looks like a petting aquarium but is not; nice plant selection
Fish Safari - really nice selection of plants mostly thanks to one of their employees (Brandy) who is knowledgeable about plants and does an excellent job keeping them alive and even propagating them (And now she knows about GWAPA.)
Jungle Aquatics - large selection of shrimp (12+ varieties), a few species of rays, a bit pricey

Re: Fish Stores in Virginia Beach
Thanks. Will have to keep this in mind if we go to that area. Are there any water garden stores/nurseries also in that area?
