My new 45F ADA set up, need help with Christmas moss

Post by londonloco »

I decided to forgo the 25g cube, I am using RO water mixed with my well water for this shrimp tank, which means buckets, going smaller was better for me. I ended up ordering the 45F (love the 6" depth), Archaea LED, Eheim 2211, new Amazonia, garden mat, small branch wood, Ohko stone and a small grate of Christmas moss. Two packages came from AF today, didn't have time to open it until tonight. WOW, I can't believe I've waited literally years to order my first ADA set up, but it was well worth the wait. Now I know why everyone raves about ADA. I'm really excited.

I'm not sure what I'm doing scape wise, but I'm sure I'm doing it tomorrow morning :D I need help on how to attach the christmas moss onto the stones and/or driftwood. Do I super glue it or tie it just like I would java moss? Are there any hobby tricks anyone has used? This is my first ADA set up, I'm like a kid at Christmas

You can use thread and tie it on, the thread will degrade and hopefully the moss will have attached itself by that time, or you can use mono filament line and the moss will cover it, or you can use the gel type super glue but it can prevent you from cleaning up the wood or stone later leaving white areas where the glue was used.

Just be as gentle as you can to remove it in the biggest piece possible, it will grow quickly with high light, fertilizer and cool water temps around 77 degrees.
Sincerely,
Tim
