Hydor bubble counter

Post by Cristy Keister »

I got a few of these, but can't find out how to use them. Do they go in the water? They don't seem to open up to add glycerine or water inside. I can't find instructions anywhere. :?

Have you called TPP? For years I ordered from them all the time. They used to have the lowest prices of anyone, great customer service and living in NOVA, if I ordered early morning, I got my goods the very next day. However, I've found lately the opposite, so I'm not sure how much help they would be anymore.

If you use a solenoid, they fill up with aquarium water every night after the solenoid clicks off, you need to have a check valve in line after the bubble counter. These are meant to be visible and 'decorative' as well as functional. Best used within 18 or 24 inches of the diffuser. I wouldn't use this to bubble CO2 into a filter.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)

Check valve under it, tube to bottom of it.

Fill with water. I use a syringe to squirt it in.

Attach tube on top of it going to another check valve (I honeslty don't do this one, I let the end fill and drain of excess water daily), then to diffusor.

Done ;)

Ahh - syringe, of course. Is there a downside to letting it fill and drain of water every day? If so, why a check valve under the bubble counter rather than just above it -- does it leak down the line below the bc?

Exactly - because it'll pull down towards your regulator without a check valve under it.
