What would cause Lobelia cardinalis to melt? High light?

Don't know but i have tons of it. I bought a big bag of it at aquafest for the demo but still have more to spare. Let me know if you want some.

Thanks Brian but that's ok. I've been growing it for ages and I've never had it melt on me before.

It is actually an emergent plant, have you checked your nutrient levels? How old are your lights?

Lights are brand new. This is the first time I've grown this plant under high light.
Phosphates are about 5ppm and nitrates look high, about 100+ ppm. I think may also explain my algae problem...

Nitrates should be roughly one tenth of that.
How are your fish even alive... are you sure the test is good?

What kind of algae? What are you dosing?
Time for some water changes.

These tests are frustrating. There are varying shades of orange on the little card and they all seem to match depending on the light. I got a second opinion from my 13 yr old daughter who thinks it is closer to 40ppm. In any case, it looks like nitrates are still high.
