Bruce offered his place on Cedar Creek, which is out past Strasburg, a couple of hours from the D.C. area. It's been years since I've been there. Other than your standard Northeastern Minnows and rock bass, I don't recall what's there.
What I've been wanting to do for a long time is to explore the Shenandoah River outside Front Royal, perhaps making the loop to the boat ramps off 340, 628, and 613. The hope is we'd find Northern Redbelly Dace. But since I've never been, I don't know what we'd find or what conditions are like.
My inclination is to try Pimmet Run, since we'll have first time collectors along. If people like the local trip, then maybe we could schedule a Shenandoah drainage trip in the Spring.

You never know what you're going to find, or where you're going to find it. So keep looking.
