Black Out

Post by jcali10 »

I want to treat my 50G for BGA. I'm suspecting my T5 ights contributed to the outbreak, they had been running for about 15 or 16 months. I replaced my lightbulbs yesterday, installed new Geissmans and I plan on increasing my co2, but I need to upgrade my co2 system first, as the needle valve doesn't accomodate the 1/16 in. ID tubing I have. So right now I am using this thicker, black stuff from the auto parts store.

Enrythromycin has worked for me in the past, but I want to try a black out. So, I should not run CO2, or feed the fish correct? Just cover the tank, leaving the filter and heater on only. I was thinking about trying this for 48 hrs. Is that sufficient time?

Thanks,
Joe
