Damien,
I've been told that green leafy veggies such as spinach, kale, romain lettuce, and swiss chard are all good foods for plecos. If you use them fresh, I was told to freeze and thaw - and not cook - them. This will soften them making them easier for the fish to eat without losing much of the nutritional vitamins and minerals. I also heard squash is a good food too.
