Sterba's Cories' eggs?

Post by dSerk »

I picked up a pair of Sterba's Cories at the Feb auction and added them to my first 3. Today, I noticed lots of chasing and nudging behavior. A couple hours later I saw these little (1-2mm) eggs on the glass and plants. Does anyone recognize these? The only other fish in the tank are some Pristella Tetras and some killi fry.

Unfortunately, I'm all tanked out and don't have anywhere to move the eggs or anything to feed Cory fry. Do they have any chance of surviving/growing?

Mostly, I'm just happy my fish are happy.

Best way to find out is gather the eggs and hatch them. If you don't want to do it , I am sure you can find someone to hatch and raise them. I do not have much experience with corries but I am sure some microworms will get them going.

I guess I could cut the leaves on which the eggs are laid, but what about the ones on the glass? Scrape 'em off with a razor? I still won't have any place to hatch them.... unless an unfiltered, bucket of water would suffice.....

If anyone wants them just holler. I'd be happy to give them to someone with more experience.

I have a tank for them, and I am not that far from Annandale. I will take them and raise them. It will be my fist corries fry raised.

PM-me with details. I can come this evening if you can collect them.
