Perhaps a dumb question

Post by Judi »

This may be a dumb question, but over how long a distance can you run co2 line? If I wanted to split co2 to more than tank, does that only make sense if the tanks are next to each other? What if they're not in the same room? Would it be completely ridiculous to drill a hole in the floor and run co2 line under the floor to get to another room?

I wouldn't drill the floor, I'd get to where you were going through drywall to one or the other.

I've got lines in my basement that are almost 30' long.

Been noodling this one as I sit here angry with a neighbor, heh. Long sotry.

Do your floor have shoe, that little quarter round piece on the bottom of the base molding? And are both carpetted rooms?

If so, you can pull the shoe (it is just tacked on with little finish nails and maybe caulked to the base board), sneak a line under the base molding, around the first room to where you'd want to go through, and through the wall there.

Tack the shoe back on, re-caulk it, and wham, done.

If no shoe, even easier - with a little pressure, you'll be able to sneak the line behind the carpet and under the base molding.

Depends how long the runs are, but doable. ;)

I used self-sticking, plastic, electrical conduit to run my CO2 line in my basement. It goes up one wall, across the ceiling, and down the other wall. The total run is amost 30 feet. Its not the greatest looking way to do it but it was very easy to do and it got from point A to point B in the shortest distance possible.

Thanks for the input, guys.

At this point, my plans are still pretty vague, as I may be moving some tanks around. Just trying to figure out what's possible.
