Sean and Aaron...

Post by ingg »

I have finally gotten to the point that I can share this plant out again soon...one more yank and split, and I'll be there for small portions I think.

Got it from Aaron, who said it came from Sean (got it from Aaron when he moved, so quite a while ago). 1-2" tall, single, once in a while double blade of grassy like growth per node. Very straight and vertical growth off node.

I would swear you said it was an Ultricularia.... might be a Ranalisma.

Either of you remember what the heck it is? Sean, you had said you had it all mixed in with Tenellus when I set up the 180g.

Will get the macro shot I so love to make - argh! - if neither of you remembers.

I thought it looked like a lilaeopsis, if I remember it correctly.

Ah, someone else with that little lilaeopsis, I was starting to think I was the only one who still had it. Ghazanfar and I got it from Krystal Kasselman in Dallas at the first AGA I went to. We gave her some ranalisma in exchange. G and I were the first two in the country with it. Then I think it became a situation where I was the only one with it. I've only brought it to a couple meetings, given bits a pieces away here and there.

Lilaeopsis then.... ;) Kris is good!

I'm growing it out, such a neat little foreground plant, have some to share soon - was thinking of sending a couple strings to Luis with the care package, have to pull it out from under the Downoi and see how much there is!

Sean, any idea which Lilaeopsis species it is? If not, I guess we'll have to get some to Cavan to verify in the National Herbarium. ;-)

Is there any information concerning its origin? If so, I could start looking through the specimens and researching if I have time.

I left nothing out of the story of our procurement of the "beastie." The info I was given is there.
