Post by Jeff120 »

Some photos from the collecting trip on Saturday. What a fun and educational trip! Found some cool fish and some funky looking stuff as well. I dont think we could of asked for a more beautiful day.

An alligator swam in to see what was going on, attempted to eat Ghazanfar but he wrestled it and skinned it! He plans on making a nice pair of boots out of it.

Lobelia cardinals is a beautiful bloom, this is the regular variety

That looks like a log to me.... But still, if I was in Georgia or Florida, it would have made me pause.

Thanks for posting those, Kris. The bluespot in your photo is more turquoise than the bluespots I've seen from other locations. The interesting thing about sunnies is that there are subtle differences in color among the different populations.

And what's interesting too, is that not all of mine look like that. I'm not sure if it's an age thing or not, but some don't have spots, and have very little color whatsoever. All of them have the teardrop under the eye. Fun fish though!

WOW, that blue sunnie is beautiful! It's as pretty as anything I've seen for sale in the LFS.

Those fish look nice in a tank, much different then the other day! How many did you end up with?
