Host Needed For July 22nd Meeting!

Post by Aaron »

Hi folks,

I realize this is pretty last minute, but our previously scheduled host had some unfortunate set backs and is unable to have us over for this month's meeting. Is there anyone else willing to host the meeting on July 22nd?

John Godbey has graciously volunteered his home for the July 22nd meeting next Saturday.

Does anyone have any ideas or requests for a topic of discussion?

Scaping and trimming would be good. John had an idea to bring photos of our 2.5 gallons thus far to try to help each other out with the contest.

HA HA, mine is looking so sad! That sounds like a good idea though, may find out that we need to extend the contest for all of us slackers and those that arent having much luck!

I might have to beg for some daphnia if you have some to share.

Marlene's been giving me a bit of a tough time of it lately with my green water too. Especially with this heat, I can do a 100 percent water change at 8:00 am on Saturday and by noon Sunday you can't see 2 inches in from the front of the tank.

Cheers.

As you've found out, Jim, water changes won't get rid of green water. The algae thrives in 0 nitrate water because it can so readily fix nitrogen that comes from the air. Block out all light for a few days until the water is clear - that'll get rid of it.

Could someone bring some daphnia to the August meeting? I want to restart a culture and I'd much rather get them locally than risking mail order.

Cheers.
