Oh wow - 900 items! I was there for the entire thing and saw the tables full of stuff but wow!

After rather successfully selling off my stuff I happily blew about the same amount in buying stuff LOL. But man, figures most the stuff I really wanted I got outbid on! Anyone in the club have red root floaters? I will continue to mourn the parva and type 2 singapore moss lol

I happily came away with a dozen wild guppies [belem, brasil], daphnia magna, and a bunch of plants currently getting ready to be moved to emersed set up - crypt affinis, crypt moelmahnii, and a huge clump pf really red wendtii... the moel and wendtii for really cheap near the end of the auction! The crypt affinis is awesome!!

Among other things, I got some beautiful emerald eye rasboras at the auction.

I'm still mourning the loss of the raffled tank, however. You see, in my mind I already owned that tank. I let my imagination run wild with thoughts of whether to leave it as is for awhile, or to rearrange a few things right away. Sigh. And then to lose it to someone who didn't even appreciate it.

Of course, I was never going to win anyway, since I lost my raffle tickets and have yet to figure out just what I did with them.

Tom, you left at exactly the wrong time! It was about 4 pm when everyone started getting tired, and many folks started to leave, and incredible deals could be had.

I could see that coming, but just couldn't stay any longer. The crowd started to thin out when I left, and there were still several hundred items left to go. Some really awesome fish on the far wall table, and center one too.

I had to leave because we are remodeling our kitchen and aquarium room and I had moving to do. I'm not putting the plant tank back together until I move it back into the finished room. So, the Eco Complete Damian ordered for me is going to have to sit a few more weeks, and no point in stocking up on plants. So, I'll come to another GWAPA meeting and load up. You guys still like when a buyer shows up, right?

One thing that helps with darters is to train them to feed from the end of a turkey baster. After they get used to it, you can blast the blackworms right into their faces. I still wouldn't keep them with minnows, however.

The darters were up in the morning, probably just didn't recognize name.

The males were incedible, I brought two pair of them up as a runner.

Etheostoma caeruleum doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

I didn't get there until around 1, you snooze, you lose.

I've attempted darters before, but only real local ones and you can't keep them with the shiners and dace that are much more effective feeders, nothing makes it down to the darters. However, my native tank is currently in search of inhabitants and the cool winter season is the perfect time to take a shot at them again.
