16 isn't a bad price at all, best I've ever seen is 10-12 even from the online based importers, then you gotta ship 'em...

Very cool fish and yes worth every penny!

These guys have colored up rather nicely. They are actually showing the colors from the photo. And they have been making quick work of the large algae patches of my tank. They are eating a lot!

they tend to place different fishes (as in not the common tetras and stuff) in the section close to the saltwater, last row closer to the feeders.

Arlene, what algea are they "taking care of" :D

I think I took the last two. They were in the back, 2nd row from the right.

You guys are right though. I would have bought them all if they had more! But they only had two. I made the employee search the entire tank.

So far I see them eating the green algae and green thread algae. I haven't seen them attack the black brush algae yet, but they are still small. They are supposed to like cyanobacteria and the brown algae from diatoms too. However, I saw Viktor's ripping out clumps of it in his tanks. His are bigger and they are blue neon gobies.

Anyone interested in more on them, there's a guy from Japan that raises them that has a rather extensive thread happening here:

Apparently he does well enough they breed fairly regularly for him.

Cheers.

Is there more than one Super Pets in Annandale? One the way home from the March meeting, Marlene and I stopped in the one at 4415 John Marr Drive and asked about Stiphodons and Oryzias. We spoke with a woman who was introduced as the owner and she said she hasn't had either in stock and never heard of either fish before.

Cheers.
