Ideas for second school in 180g?

IME, Rasboras are far better schoolers than the Tetras, which for me need a threat present in the tank, or an iwagumi style setup to hold any sort of schooling behavior.

My favorite paring with DNRs is still flagtail cats, but they are active really mostly while feeding or searching for food - but then they do hang together, and are larger than I suspect that you want. They also do not like carpet plants at all - they need open substrate with me. But I actually feel the same about Cory cats.

Glass cats are seriously inhibited by DNRs - they will never leave the plants during the light in my tanks if 'bows are present. Debauwi cats are more speedy and a better match for the 'bows, but they will go noctural in bright tanks.

Anubias design has the espei rasboras for 25/ $40.00. That's a pretty sweet deal. I would go with 75 of them...at least 50.

I agree with Robert about Rasboras schooling better than tetras.

Come to the amazon with PVAS in August - catch your own school of pencilfish or tetras.

How about some Giant Danios, a school of 10 or more. They grow to about 4 inches, need lots of room and are pretty good jumpers. Don't know if they will eat your plants or shrimp.

That could be interesting - GERs are personal favorites, but I have never kept them with anything beyond shrimp.
