{"id":3109,"date":"2017-08-27T18:29:06","date_gmt":"2017-08-27T22:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gwapa.org\/wordpress\/?p=3109"},"modified":"2017-08-27T18:29:06","modified_gmt":"2017-08-27T22:29:06","slug":"august-2017-meeting-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gwapa.org\/wordpress\/2017\/08\/august-2017-meeting-3\/","title":{"rendered":"August 2017 Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The August, 2017 GWAPA meeting was held at Gabriel Andrade\u2019s home in Montgomery Village, MD.\u00a0 A little over 20 people were there to hear Erik Lucas from <a href=\"http:\/\/buypetshrimp.com\">BuyPetShrimp.com<\/a> give a talk entitled\u00a0<em>Freshwater Shrimp, an overview of the hobby in the US<\/em>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At the start of the meeting Nick Kinser reminded us of GWAPA\u2019s upcoming planted tank contest. It included detailed discussions of dozens of types of shrimp.\u00a0 He explained how to raise them; some diseases they could get, and how to treat them if they did get sick; and how to keep the shrimp in a planted tank.\u00a0 He discussed where shrimp of various types could be bought, and how much some of the rare species could cost.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some photos of Erik giving his
