Join us on March 23rd for GWAPA’s 3rd meeting of the year.  Our talk will be “Starting Your Shrimp Keeping Journey” by Jacob Waters. We will also have a small intro talk by our host John Meyer

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Jacob Waters started off in the saltwater would 20 years ago breeding clownfish and at one point had over 3000 cumulative gallons of saltwater aquariums up and running but got out of the hobby do to lack of time. He got back into the hobby about 5 years ago when his 6 year old son saw a beta fish at the pet store and started to beg to have one as a pet. So they got one with a small self-cleaning tank and about a month later after some research found that it really needed a larger tank to thrive so he picked up a small 2.5 gallon tank with a sponge filter and air pump. The following week he found the club PVAS and went to his first meeting where he met Frank and ended up buying a bag of cherry shrimp and fell in love with the critters. Fast forward to today and he now has over a dozen shrimp only tanks between home and work with many rare species and is specializing in the harder to keep Caridina. He is focusing on fancy tigers and Boa shrimp at the moment but also getting into the highly coveted Nanashi lines as well. Jacob has made friends with some of the most well-known breeders in the world and is doing all that he can to help grow the hobby of shrimp keeping.

After the talk we will also hold our regular monthly auction. Members and non-members are welcome!
