I really doubt that your NPK are all 0. Test the N & P.
Don't worry too much about the K.

What size is the tank? What lighting? CO2 system?
Fishload? Plant load?

Some of do worry about the K - not necessarily do enough about it, but I do fret over it.

well, my staghorn has gone away, now ive got fine strands that come off the crypts and the java, that seem to amass in a few days, so upkeep is a pain. also a fine 'threadlike' dark green that also feels like thread when pulling it off of stuff. i need to get pics of it all so i can get a better definition so you knwo what im talking about.

i think most of my algae is hair.
i received Gregs PMDD Pre-Mix yesterday
How much of the mix should i i use
i think i used 1/4 cup to 500 ml of hot water, just about all the mix dissolved, but there is a bit in the bottom.
is 1/4 cup ok, too much, not enough ?
then how much of this is a good starting point to start dosing at ?

I'm struggling a little to understand this.

Using the Fertilator, the stock solution for KNO3 works out correctly: 4.59 ml of nitrate solution will give you 5 ppm of NO3 in 10G of water.

But when I plug the numbers in for the KH2PO4: 9.6 grams KH2PO4, 250 ml water, desired ppm .35, result is to add 0.49 ml of phosphate solution, not 1 ml for 0.36 ppm of PO4 in 10G of water.

But 4.8 grams of KH2PO4 and 250 ml water, desired ppm 0.35 results in a phosphate solution where 0.99 ml equals the desires 0.35 ppm PO4.

I see now, it looks like the amount of KH2PO4 was doubled, half the amount worked out correctly.
