Marsha - Estes naturals are packed in 5# bags, but those come 5 per box, so you don't have to tote so many individual small bags.
Sean - so when are we going to hear about 'real' substrates?

I'm eager to hear about this also... could we do an online chat session or something like that for the out of towners?

I'm scheduled to talk in July but I'm going to post something earlier than that, it might make the July talk obsolete.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.
If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!
I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up!
i forgot, are you guys from philly? I have some friends up there and occasionally make a trip. i could always pick stuff up from the ac before i go.
Sorta... I'm actually in MD now, about 45 minutes from Philadelphia at the University of Delaware.
John Wheeler and I are the last exit in Maryland/first exit in Delaware on 95 north, we're about an hour from the Aquarium Center and an hour from civilization in general...
Our LFS is right off 95, "Newark Tropicals", it has a long history in the planted tank arena, the original manager Mike ran an outfit called Delaware Aquatic Plant Imports, he was one of the first in the US to get stuff from SE Asia you see some refs to him in really old Krib articles... now the plant selection is Egeria, Elodea, and Anacharis, sad really It seems they are going to keep Eco-Complete in stock, I would call first tho, really nothing else to see there, but 19.99 a bag can't be beat, it'll add 20 minutes at most to your trip.
I'm going to try to make quite a few of the GWAPA meetings as the local aquarium clubs (read: guppy auctions) up here need some help... you guys have a pretty cool thing going on down there (CCA/PVAS/GWAPA)... I have some friends in Bethesda so its a good weekend trip.
Cheers,
Jeff
Mike od Delaware Aquatic Imports? I remember him
from way back when. Never did find out why he
suddenly disappeared.
Wheeler tells me his kids took over, he seems to have retired into the killifish hobby and the younger guys seem to be more into Africans which is basically anti-plant , this is what I know thru the grapevine so to speak... Why they stopped the mail-order business I do not know, it does correspond with them moving to a much larger retail store-front though, that might be the reason... they are also trying to make money, they are nice people and easy to talk to, their local market is Anubias and guppies/swordtails, other stuff doesn't sell.
