DIY Cholla

Post by 150EH »

The Cholla in my nano tank is starting to break apart but my shrimp love hiding in it, eating it etc. so rather than go search for more I decided to make my own out of pvc pipe, this is only 1" but I wanted it small for my nano tank and it's plenty big for adult shrimp and I made the holes big enough that fry and juveniles could easily escape if needed, I will paint it brown and try my hand at some faux painting and then cover it with some type of moss, subwassertang, etc.

That's very nice. I bet you could sell that stuff on Aqua Bid or TNT, especially if it is for a nano tank. I like the cholla wood to hide the air tube that comes up from my sponge filter.

Great idea Tim. :)

Thanks, I thought this might work in a pinch because the shrimp hide more than they swim so I'm don't want to change their surroundings too much and hopefully they will keep on breeding in my fake Cholla.
Sincerely,
Tim
