C. nurii

Post by Ghazanfar Ghori »

A quick little update (no pics).

African violets are going crazy. I have too many! Anyone want some?

Lagenandra meeboldi is doing quite well - over 50 jars of that now.

C. nurii was split last night into 50+ jars. I'm estimating I have about 700+ plants of that right now. In 6-8 weeks, that'll go 7 fold.

I now have C. ideii, C. minima 'gasseri', C. cordata 'KR001', C. longicauda and C. ferrigunea started in culture too.

Need more space!

Are the violets at a stage that they could be planted?

Almost! Roots are forming, just need to wait maybe 1 more week or so and then open the jar, wash off the gel, dip in anti-fungal and plant into african violet soil in one of those seeds starter kits. I think each jar has 50+ plantlets.

I would be interested. I have a seed tray and can easily get the violet soil to utilize it.

Nice shots, and awesome progress!

If all you need is shelf space with T-12 lighting for growing, I can probably help you out. It would be in my basement, where the temp is often 63-68* F, though.
