Met Christy at AC this afternoon - somehow or another a couple of batches of shrimp followed me home...

Rudolph Red-nosed for one - free-swimming and therefore a bit weird when you are accustomed to substrate-associated beasts. I think these will have to stay in a species tank.

Plus they had a batch of extremely well-marked Bumblebees, still black/white, but really good-looking and so irresistable. These are destined for one of the veggie filters.

Well, the red-nose, red-tailed are all alone in a sponge-filtered 10, w/lots of Anubias nana (surprise!). They are strange little critters, and Frank has said they reproduce well in captivity.

The color is not showy, but when they swim directly under the tube, it is striking.

The Bumblebees are in a veggie filter, so masses of Java Moss up to near the surface. This time I did sponge filter the input and outflow. Other than briefly during sponge rinsing, that should keep them in.
