From my experience:

1. Go to Petco and find 7 Celebes (2 male, 5 female) that are in with Buenos Aires Tetras.
2. Take pity on Celebes that have fins all eaten off (except 2 fish).
3. Instruct attendant to catch them all.
4. Argue with manager for reduction (3.99 to 2.29 - right before Christmas)
5. Take home & place in 8 Gal Rubbermaid isolation tub with heater & corner filter (no plants or spawning mops, please!!)
6. Set temp to 76. Take one ph reading (original was 6.5 , my water is 7.6)
7. Adjust inauguration ph to match their store water.
8. Dump the fish in with a bunch of Melafix. Cover & observe through side panels only. Keep lid barely ajar for feeding.
9. Feed 2x daily, with guppy food. Give frozen blood worms & fresh brine shrimp every 3rd day.
10. Do 1/3 water change every week, matching temps.
11. After 3 weeks in isolation, move fish to well-lit planted tank.
12. Ignore the isolation tub for next 10 days, but keep filtration & heater on.
13. Examine mulm before throwing out - you may have a dozen or so fry!!!

Food for newly-hatched egg fry (Celebes) HELP!!

Micro worms or vinegar eels? Does anyone have an active culture?

I have fry that I had not expected... and it looks like I had losses overnight...

ALSO POSTED TO THE YAHOO LIST

Do you have any sponge filters? Squeeze them into a jar and let the jar settle. The white cloud above the mulm is made up of rotifers. These make great food for baby rainbow fish. CAREFULLY seperate the rotifers out from the mulm and feed. If you have a lot of sponge filters you can collect from them on a rotating basis.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)

I have some microworms, but I think someone closer should have some (I can bring to CCA/GWAPA next meeting). I like sean's idea.
