So 10 pounds'd be what, like 3-4 bucks? I'll take ten pounds of the clay, stick it under a tank for next time.

I would also be interested if we find a good source for the other products involved. Its going to be nice to finally have a yard where I can weird out the neighbors by drying dirt.

well I found the dolomite and was corrected on the clay, we still need the potash.

one question, 2 bags of soil still going, went to skim all of the twigs, sticks and such on the final wet dry run and it end up feeling like there was almost nothing left except a bit of silt.

Am I missing something here or should I leave some of the larger bits?

Nope. I sounds perfect

It should feel like a bucket of air - umm... imagine a bucket of dry cigarette ashes. I was shocked, too, it is so fine, so, well, fluffly or something.

Silt is exactly what you are trying to make. :D It sounds like it's perfect.

If you sift it like you said you did you'll end up tossing 50% or so of the orginal 40 lb. bag.
