Not in my fish tanks, thanks very much anyway. I don't care for nitrate titers approaching 100ppm.

No, Dorothy Riemer is the nice Canadian lady. Walstad is a whole 'nother beastie.

Thanks again Sean, and I do agree.

Why do I remembr that person's name and not Ms Riemer's? Don't bother to answer - I don't want to know.

hmm, either I cant smell or my soil is done..

I just picked up the second small handful of soil from the tarp and it didnt have any smell at all.

I think Ill let it fully dry, re-wet it and then dry it at least one more time.

Admittedly, I totally didnt follow the directions.

I soaked it for about a day, turning it repeatedly, I also skimmed out any and all floaters that I had (a good 5+ lbs of sticks, etc).

drained it

soaked it again

drained it

(turning it 3-4 times a day the whole time)

transfered it to a shallower tub

laid it out on the tarp and let it dry, re-wet it, and I am letting it dry again.

I would do one more round of drying it on the tarp just to be sure.

I planned on doing at least 1 more round (it should be dry when I get home today).

Rewet it tonight.

Let it sit until Friday evening when I get home

Possibly rewet it again.

Let it sit until Saturday night or Sunday AM.

possibly rewet again.

and then once dry, build the screen and make a mess.

No, he should do it at least 6 or 7 more times, just so he can get the hang of it.
