Why not?
The foliage needs time to produce carbohydrates to store in the bulbs for flowers and healthy plants next year. Tying the foliage into tidy bundles or cutting it off results in smaller, weaker plants each year until eventually they die out.

I'm just looking forward to seeing grass again. We stil have 1-2ft of snow left on the ground.
I just realized the last post was a month ago, now I'm really getting spring fever!

Alaska's version of Punxsutawney Phil. Chris just emerged from the snow tunnel at his front door and saw his shadow. 6 more months of winter! :lol:

I lived in Seward back in '70-'72. I feel your pain man!

Oh wow, I definitely missed the second post in this thread! Crocus are my favorite flowers, and while I knew there were some nice species out there, I hadn't seen a picture of those lovelies!
