That's a big maybe; he needs to know it way in advance due to a house project. I won't make it, by the way, because I will be out of town that weekend.

Unfortunately, it conflicts with the Keystone Clash.
What about a carpool event to the Clash? Lots of good speakers at that! :)

If we can't get a speaker by the end of the week...we will need to cancel the September meeting, so please send in suggestions!!!

Why do you have to cancel the meeting if there is no formal speaker?
I think Tim's suggestion is a good one. Unless its a member, we're not likely to get someone on such short notice even if there is a suggestion. Just make it a swap meet.

Okay. We can meet at someone's place. We can either meet at Michael's (MD, if he's still willing to host) or I can ask John (VA).

How do you guys feel about doing a "round table" where everyone shares a tip or hack that you use in your fishrooms?

Given that there's no more catcon, is keystone clash now the closest con to the NoVA area?

Scuttlebutt is that the Catfish Convention is not going to go away, afterall, and supposedly, Big Fish Deal will continue to be a thing.
Keystone Clash is probably the largest, regularly happening event in the region, but there are LOTS of others, depending on how you define them. James River in Richmond has their "Spring Fling" and auctions, and RAS in Raleigh has a workshop annually. Keystone is a bit closer and more accessible.

And, of course, there are the BIG conventions -- the ACA (Which now includes the ALA and AKA?) and AGA conventions which rotate in locations -- AGA will be in NC next year. And the "other" CatCon in Wisconsin.
