Hi Eugen, thanks for the tip. I had no idea Flourish did that. I had hoped to find a way to do this without removing the fish because i hate stressing them out during capture. But I guess that's unavoidable. I'll try to cancel the copper order. So how do you dose? Some of the google searches suggest...

Eradication of brush algae with copper
Hi ... my brush algae is out of control. It's killed most of my plants. I have to do a complete tank make-over (40 gallon tank). The wood is badly infested and can't be used until it's been sterilized in bleach. (I may try to save one of them.) Since brush algae sticks to gravel and the glass, compl...

commercial fertilizer recommendations
Hi ... a friend of mine is really missing his ferrovit, but it's either hard to find or awfully expensive. So he needs to find something else to perk up his miserable plants. He's thought about PMDD, but i suspect he'd prefer something from the store he could directly add to the tank. Any recommenda...

Thanks, Rico. That's beautiful grey slate! Were the construction workers OK with you collecting the rock? I'm a bit concerned about trespassing. I love rocks (they speak to me! LOL!). But don't know much about them. What are the predominant types found in the Maryland area? I also make terrariums, a...

cool rocks
I really like those rocks used by Amano, as well as aquarists from Hong Kong and Taiwan. They have shapes that remind me of craggy mountaintops. What kind of rocks are those? Are there similar types available in the US?
thanks,
shireen

Christmas Moss gone wild
Christmas moss is driving me nuts. Any advice on how to make it behave itself? (i got it on the driftwood already.) Anyone ever made a moss wall.
Yeah, and before you ask ... barring a disaster, i 'll send you some. Drop me a note when it gets warmer.
thanks,
shireen
