Re: Fish suggestion

Yeah I have a few blues left in my farm tank but I want to get some more. As I said maybe I can get some reds from you at the Christmas party. I think you might be the only one who has a colony in the group.

Re: Fish suggestion

I had the Blue shrimp from Nick in there. I know the reds are more tolerant but I did not want to try them. Now that I have the filter I think it may be worth a shot. The blues did great until the summer and they produces several broods in there while they were happy

Re: Fish suggestion

I have not tried them but they might be good. I was thinking I might be able to try the red cherry shrimp in there. They tolerate a wide range and with the cooling of the water movement and no top they might work. The blues did fine until the summer and I have had some reds in the big tank which has...

Re: Fish suggestion

I got the mini filters the other day and I must say that the mini power filter is nice. I was worried about the water force coming out would be too much but when its turned down all the way its just right. So the tank does have a filter now and water movement. I agree that the warmer temps and plant...

Re: Thermometers

After about an hour, three of the four read the same as each other and the same as my nice meat grilling thermometer. I figure that the probability of all four being incorrect at the same temperature was really low so I'm assuming that they are all reading correctly. Statistics was never my specialt...

Thermometers

Does anyone have a really good, accurate, aquarium thermometer then can recommend. I have been using the alcohol based bulb ones but a quick check has them all over the map. How hard is it to make centuries old technology accurate? Really wishing I had my old YSI instruments about now. I looked at a...

Re: New to me crypts

Yeah I think you two are on to something. Looking back at my notes, the tank started out around 78 and then got a little warmer last summer as we keep the house warm. It then went back to the 78 or so. Crypts were great during this time. Around April I had an Ich outbreak and adjusted the tank for a...
