Re: February Meeting

I know this a late request but I hope that the topic of this meeting will be offered again.
Kay and I would have liked to have been present at this talk and could have learned a lot.

Re: February Meeting

Glad that I didn't have to be on the road today but it means I won't have a car Sunday and will miss the meeting.

Re: February Meeting

I was going to bring my Eheim everyday fish feeder for trade but not now.
After reading the fertilizer hack by kris, I'm keeping mine to dose the tank when I'm away. :P

Re: Aquarium "Life Hacks"

DIY Bulkhead Hack This idea came from another DIY CO2 fanatic. Finding a way to attach an air hose that's inexpensive and provides a mechanical seal where the hose attaches to the yeast generator, i.e., the bottle cap. I've used 1/8" Fourmost Bulkhead Fittings from a hobby shop but I found ano...

Re: Aquarium "Life Hacks"

Nice. I like the angle it keeps the food too. How about something I do to turn down the air going to a small corner filter. Too keep the air pump from overheating, I use a double gang valve set very low, about 1bps - 24/7. The air valve to the corner filter is almost closed but the back pressure is ...

Re: Aquarium "Life Hacks"

CO2 Hack I'm going to say I do this and believe it's fairly accurate, irregardless of KH. I check the pH of the water in the tank and compare it to the tank water's pH after it's sat outside the tank and reached ambient CO2 levels, 2-7ppm, generally 3ppm. From those readings, I realized my CO2 wasn...

Re: Aquarium "Life Hacks"

I love "Life Hacks". This is a particularly good idea for me to try. It seems a nutrient rich substrate and water column just begin to provide non-limiting nutrients, in some tanks. One of the topics at this years AGA… http://www.barrreport.com/forum/barr-report/co2-enrichment/2951-old-no3...

Re: Anyone have experience with the Boy Scouts of America.

Oh dear. Though the OP sounds a little like it, I am not trying to turn us into the Boy Scouts of America or attempting to turn GWAPA into a club that might be considered intolerant towards the different opinions of others. I just think merit badges encourage competition and a level of competency he...
