Cool, let me know! I think it would be cool to have them in some of my tanks if they can handle it and don't mess with my Boraras. I know the Boraras would mess with babies but I'd be good and have a shrimp tank for them too. I'd probably stick to just one or two kinds, definately kept seperate. I l...

Shrimp for acidic water?

Since it was recently brought up in another thread that different shrimp have different pH requirements, and I have a preference for blackwater tanks, I figured I'd go ahead and ask :) What are Shrimp that do well in more acidic tanks, and what are their pH ranges? I got some useful info off Arizona...

Sounds like I need some Tiger shrimp for my blackwater tanks. I'll have to read up on them since I am having a grand old time with the RCS I have but won't do well long term in any of my tanks outside their breeding tank. Have the tanks stabilized long enough to know what the current parameters of t...

Very cool research! I studied ecology in college (biogeography - same thing slightly different point of view  ) and that really stuck with me in my pollutions studies. I never really thought about antibiotic pollution but I guess few people realize how much is actually getting tossed into our ...

Huh, I wouldn't really think to use antibiotics to "clean" a tank with, at least not one that isn't full of water - I always think of them as the effort to kill the little nasties without killing the larger organism I want (this is my understanding and may not be correct! I've not really h...

Is anyone up for visiting a LFS after the meeting? I know we've done it in the past... and I know that Scales isn't too far away? I've never been. I need to pick up sponge filters.

These types of backgrounds made it into the frog world as well (if it works in a fish tank, it should work in a frog tank!). I've been thinking about making my own removable backgrounds making fake rock from cements/grout over styro peices... much lighter than real rock and you have more control to ...

Wow, I always did love the gobies... and those are just stellar! Like I need another idea for a species tank... erk. Splashing tetras or these gobies? Grrrr... I'm tossing the idea around about getting some Boraras since they have a nice selection (some of my all time fav fish!), so I'll talk with y...
