thanks. I had not thought to use this method to get shrimp out of my tank. I have a 75 community tank which is over flowing with cherry shrimp. I often thin them out before going to a meeting and it was taking longer than I wanted. This should make that task a lot easier. This is similar to what sal...

Rick! You're going to have to teach me how to grow daphnia so I can have some for the summer. Arlene Summer is easy. Get a culture from Frank. Do a slow acclimatize and leave them outside. They will be fine until Oct. Inside once you get a culture adapted to your water do a 50% water change every t...

I agree with other posters that the Killi club is the place for live food. Usually you can get microworms, vinegar eels every month and usually starter cultures for daphnia. But to make sure someone brings what you are looking for it is best to ask ahead on the forum or call. I need to get some daph...

I have grindal worms that we feed to our small fish. They are a little trickier than some live food but still reasonable. I will try to bring a culture next meeting.

I am breeding bettas. Mostly butterfly but other patterns as well. I am an IBC member also. Bob Dozier lives in Woodbridge, VA and he is a past IBC President and Grand Champion. Bob is finishing Seminary and has been busy lately but will soon have a little more time for bettas. We are looking for pe...

I just inject into my large canister filter. It is a generic brand that does 500 gph. Every once in a while it burps.

Pricey yes but think about an old Perfecto incandescent hood with two 65W lights on a 10 gallon tank. Man that would be some really nice & healthy algae!

Mary got some really nice stuff from Senske @ ADG with the last GWAPA group order. They had some really nice rocks too. Mary talked with him at the AGA convention and told us they had some good stuff in stock. I think they collected the wood in Texas but the rocks came from Japan. Rick Link to there...
