Re: Fertz - what and where to buy?

Jim Miller, how do you dose? First since I have only one tank and it's 90g what works for me may not work for others. Also I make no claims for perfection. ;-) I use EI with dry powder. Going by the EI charts I use 1.5 tsp of KNO3, 0.5tsp of Monopotassium phosphate and 0.25tsp of CSM+B three times ...

Thanks for the replies so far.

Jim Miller, how do you dose? I know you tend to research everything throughly.
Cavan, same question for you. I'm intersted in what you are doing EXACTLY since you have had such success with fixing your algae issues.

Ben Belton wrote:I guess I was using Estimative Index. I learned this before Tom came up with that one. I was adding micros about 3 times a week and macros a couple times a week and adjusting. Mixing the micros this way was very economical.
OK, thanks for sharing.

Re: Fertz - what and where to buy?

Granted I'm not the most current person in the hobby, but I last bought from Green Leaf HERE . Easy to order. Showed up very professionally done. He has everything you want or need. Also there was a great thread on how to make your own Tropica Master Grow on planted tank and he participated some. H...

Fertz - what and where to buy?

I have a friend who is just getting started with a planted aquarium, and he is asking for advice on what fertz to buy and from where. I have been using the Pfertz line because it was EASY, but the company is sadly no longer in business due to the owner's serious illness. So, I am looking for SPECIFI...

Re: Brightwell Aquatics Florin Volcanit

Yes, thanks for the review as well. Amazonia broke down on me and I just had a muddy mess. I switched to EcoComplete, but the plants don't seem to like it. I have Fluval Stratum in some of my other tanks and that does fairly well. I am looking forward to trying this new substrate and seeing how it c...

Re: Refilling CO2 question

Is there a Robert's Oxygen near you? I have always found their prices reasonable.

$215 for a tank is very high. Just a quick search found Aquariumplants.com has a 20# for $121.99, plus $7 shipping.

Re: Sept Meeting at Julie's house

Also, I received some questions about the mechanics of my system. Jump to the thread of my 37g and you will see everything mapped out. http://gwapa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4392&start=50. Since I initially set up the CO2 for my 37g, I have split it and now also have CO2 going to my 11g...
