Why turn the filter off with the lights? Wouldn't your bacteria die off with the filter off that long?

I replaced the frame on a 30g. Huge pain in the #$$! I don't recommend it.

I broke the old frame off in pieces. There was no easy way that I could think of. Then scrape off the silicone with a razor blade.
