Topic: How to catch a large pleco?

The topic says it all. Any ideas? I've got to relocate one large pleco to another tank (twice actually). Small ones I can deal with, but I'm afraid I have no idea how to handle "Scooter". Last time I tried netting one over three or four inches, he got his fins hung up in the net and ended ...

I just got my new 120 gallon tank and stand yesterday! Managed to get it home in that nasty sleeting rain, but it made it safe and sound. This tank will be a replacement for my 110 gallon (lesson learned the hard way... tall tanks don't work for planting). Before I start ripping everything apart, do...
Jonathan, lookie the link Larry has in his first post.
*reads post again* Oh there IS a link there! Oops. Those are some fairly freaky looking bulbs. Hrm... if I replace the clips in my existing hood, I could cram 4 of those puppies in there and have a very nice 384 w...

Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, but aren't 96W CFs over three feet long? This would be wasted on a 2 ft tank. But, assuming that I'm mistaken... One thing no-one seems to have mentioned yet... at that light level (3 WPG or higher), you're probably going to get some REALLY nice algae if you...

Ah good, then it's not just me. :)

Do me a favor and post it as soon as it's firm... I've got a wife who's unable to plan my weekend honey-do list adequately right now. :P

Color me stupid, but what time is the meeting this Saturday? I've only been to one so far and that was a month ago... I have a hard time remembering back that far. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

Hoagart, I just made a post about some of the Harbor Freight stuff in the Equiment forum. We can discuss it there in an attempt not to sidetrack this thread.

I'd mentioned in another post that I managed to stop by Harbor Freight on the way back from Florida (this is the BIG warehouse in South Carolina). I've used them before for stuff, but always wondered how much of their equipment I could use for my tanks. Well, here are a few items I picked up and my ...

Hey all, I bought a big bucket of Seachem Equilibrium from our fall auction. It appears to be unused, but it's turned brown. The small containers of Equilibrium I've used have always been snow white and shown no signs of changing color. I just want to make sure this batch is still good before I find...

Who said anything about taking care of the tank? She was just looking. :) I tossed in a ton of watersprite before I left , cut the light cycle down a bit, and that's it. pH dropped a bit by the time I got back and I've got a bit of algae on the glass, but other than that, it's all good. BTW... no fr...
