Aquascaping Contest
GWAPA is hosting the 2013 annual aquascaping contest for GWAPA members! The theme for this year’s contest is : Iwagumi.
The contest is open to GWAPA members ($5 registration), tank size is not restricted to only 2.5G aquariums, and we are re-instating the beginner and advanced categories.
The goal of the contest is to provide friendly competition among members, while finishing with a collection of displayable tanks that can then be submitted to other aquascaping contests. There will be two categories in this year’s contest (beginner and advanced), with the grand prizes to be announced later. A free years’ GWAPA membership will be awarded to the 2nd place winner for each category.
Contest Rules
- Only one tank per category per member. Family memberships are permitted multiple entries, limited to 1 tank per family member per category.
- Categories are:
- Beginner: First time participants, new to aquascaping, kids … everyone here has a fair chance.
- Advanced: The game is on! Show your skills and may the best win !.

- The contest will be judged by photograph only. A photograph should be submitted to gwapa@gwapa.org by midnight on November 17th.
- Winners will be selected by popular vote on the forum from November 19th – 29th, and announced at the December Holiday Party.
- Equipment should be removed from the tank prior to photographing.
- Selection of plants, rock, wood, substrate, etc is entirely up to the entrant.

- Free AGA contest registration (up to $5) for any GWAPA member who participates in our contest. Member must register their aquascape in the AGA contest, and forward confirmation email to gwapa@gwapa.org to be reimbursed via Paypal.
