2019 Holiday Potluck

A large group of GWAPA members gathered at Glen Echo Park to celebrate another wonderful year of friends, fish, and aquascaping! A special thank you to Nick Kinser, who graciously hosted us at Glen Echo, where he works.

Members got to sit and chat while enjoying all sorts of delicious food and baked goods. It was definitely a holiday feast! There was also a very large number of amazing items up for auction including plants, lights, fertilizers, and even a brand new tank!

Once everyone had their fill of the food, we made our way down to the Glen Echo Aquarium. Inside was a stunning array of native fish, reptiles, invertebrates, mollusks, and even one adorable amphibian! In addition to the gorgeous tanks, was a “Touch Tank” featuring horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, grass shrimp, and mud snails. One of the people who worked at the aquarium showed us how horseshoe crabs eat, it was fascinating!

Thank you all for another wonderful year, and Happy Holidays! Remember to check the website in early January for the 2020 Meeting Schedule!
