For the glass tanks from glasscages.com -
looking at the pictures on their site, I'd
check out their workmanship first hand before
buying anything from them.

As far as acrylic is concerned, from glasscages.com
price may come out to about the same. Granted
you're spending your time so buying it
is a better deal. But if in the end, you end up
with a custom tank, with filtration built in,
and the satisifaction of doing it yourself - and the
fun - I may give it a shot!

This tank isn't sealed with silicone, more like CRAZY glue, As dust has accumlated over the week I can see more and more glue. More and more scratching to come.

I'll have to email him again. Once I had the tank I emailed him, "How was the total cost tallied?" The answer came back a few dollars more expensive than what I paid, I have to wonder if he took the hint.

i think i will just see what happens with you gamblers. i've spilled enough water on the floor (>60gallons total)...the last thing i need is to have a "pride and joy/my-favorite-tank-that-took-me-100hours-to aquascape" to come apart and crush my very soul.

Cory-are you serious about the glue? can't that be harmful to the fish?

Sean and I dropped by a Home Depot on the way
back from AC. 36" x 72" sheet of 1/4" acrylic was
for $60. I've already started designing what I want!

Research indicates that with 1/4 inch acrylic, tank depth should be restricted to 12 inches or less.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
