Buying sheet glass

Post by Wenchel »

Hello all,

I'm building a few small rimless cube tanks, but I'm struggling to find a reasonably priced place to get sheet glass. I plan on cutting the glass myself so I'm hoping to save some cash by just buying a pane or two.

I'm looking for 3/16 or 1/4 inch glass. Anyone have any tips?

If you have a thrift store near you try browsing to see if there is any scrap glass or used windows...
depending on what you are making (size) I take cracked or used tanks and break them down and make smaller tanks from them...
Sometimes, if you go to a local glass store, they may have scrap pieces they will sell cheap or give away...
good luck
