Marsh Periwinkle (Littorina irrorata) - Just a thought

Post by Larry Grenier »

These guys exist in the billions in the Chesapeake bay. They are often exposed while evading predators like crabs and I saw millions partially exposed at low tide at an unpopular tourist beach; my favorite kind  . The Bay's pH and salinity varies, as you would expect, with the highest levels closest to the mouths opening to the ocean and fresh at the other end where most of the water is fed by rivers & streams.

If acclimated properly, would these guys be good for planted tanks similar to the nerites?

This is an opportunity for you to be at the forefront of the hobby. Meaning we have no idea, give it a try and tell us what happens.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
