Infusoria at Josh's Saturday?

Post by Sonny Disposition »

Does anyone have a starter of paramecium or rotifer or something that they could bring to Josh's place Saturday? I've got lots of really small baby fish, and they'd probably benefit from some tiny critters. (I'm keeping them going on ultrafine golden pearls and vinegar eels.)

Thanks.
Bob

Does green water have these little critters in them? I thought they did.

I have a green water culture that I can bring a jar of if you want.

Bob, I have a 29-gallon tank outside my apartment that is full of pea soup.

You can have all you can drink.

Until then squeeze some sponge filters into a container, let it settle and use a turkey baster to pick up the layer of cloudy water above the muck. That is pure rotifer soup.

Thanks, anyway, all. I've got the baby rainbows in green water. I was hoping to get something a little bigger, like paramecia or rotifers, as a change from the vinegar eels.

If no one has them, maybe I can get some from Frank or John Mangan at the next PVAS meeting.

You can always buy a culture of rotifers at Centreville Aquarium. They have them in bottles at the front of the store. They also have other small living cultures in bottles too.
