BN Pleco

Post by Jim Miller »

Well several of my BN plecos have gotten too large for my tank. I'll need to try to snag them over the next week or so and bring them to the meeting. I'm thinking club donation since I think most folks would find these too large and it sounds like the club is overrun with them.

I'm hoping I don't have to send them to the freezer. Anyone interested in them?

1 is over 4" long, 3 are nearly 3" long.

Any takers?

Jim, are these the ones I gave you? If so, and no one else wants them I will take them back to save them from the freezer...

I don't know if they're the ones you gave me or not. I think you gave me a whole batch of teeny ones and they're still modestly sized and rather slow growing. These took off like rockets. They're healthy rascals!

I wish my memory was better....

But you're welcome to them!

If you're not 100% sure, I will pass. I don't want to mix species...

FYI, I also have a bunch of juvenile ancistrus if anyone needs any. Luckily the Aquarium Depot was able to take about 30 of them off my hands. Damn breeding cave.

Hi Francine

I don't know how to tell the difference. Is it easy?

Yes it is. The males have a large array of tentacle protuberants on their heads and the females have shorter and fewer ones.
