Not strictly on topic, since Aradopsis is a terrestrial plant. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if some aquatic/marginal plants do this, too. Essentially, in response to getting eaten by herbivores, some cells in Aradposis develop duplicate copies of their genome. It's thought that the extra copy stimulates genes that help the plant overcome the damage.
