First scape 56G

Post by ricoishere »

Well, I will call this my first attempt at scaping. I picked a few nice plants at this weekend’s meeting, angelfish that Ghazanfar and I ordered, and some nerites. So with my new items, I embarked on this rookie experience.
Livestock:
Silver Pearlscale w. Albino Gene Angelfish
Paraiba Pinoy Blue Angelfish
Double Dark Angelfish
Pinoy Platinum Angelfish
German Blue Rams
Plants:
Blyxa Japonica
Dwarf Sag
Ludwigia Lacostris
Polygonum Hydropiptroides
Vallisneira
Wendtii, Red (Cryptocoryne wendtii)
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Florida Sunset'
Lagenandra meeboldi sp. pink
Anubias barteri nana

Substrate is Seachem Fluorite
Compressed CO2

Advice is always welcome!

Anubias coffefolia?

I like it. That's a nice find.

Anubias barteri, I would guess. Looks like you've buried the rhizome, which it won't like.

If its what I left in the donation box (might have had "John" written on the bag) then I'm fairly sure it is Anubias barteri nana.

That's definitely plain old Anubias barteri... Nice start to the scape, Rico!

The tank is coming along fine. The angels haven't paired off yet, but they're at that size. A little nipping here and there. I did a massive trimming last night. The Val got trimmed back, the anubia, dwarf hairgrass and all the crypts got the algae coated leaves clipped as well. I removed the large pice of hardscape from the rear right, and replaced it with a reb rubin sword. Also added apongeton madagascar, once that grows, the val is gone. Added about 8. Pieces af anubias petite around the flat rocks.
Had an algae blowup overnight when I dosed, but I had turned off the CO2 and pow, there it was waiting for me when I came from work. I'll post pics this evening. But the growth has been rapid!
