GWAPA 2015 Aquascaping contest

Post by GOT MTS? »

Hello fellow GWAPA members,

I am started this thread to gauge whether or not members are interested in having a club aquascaping contest this year. Participation has been trailing off the past few years so it's really up to you to say if you want this. If there is enough interest we will make it happen, if not than maybe next year.

If you are interested in making this happen please post to this tread. Please also indicate which style of aquascape you would prefer the contest to focus on.

Dutch?
Iwagumi?
Natural?
Wabi-Kusa?
Free for all? (everyone picks their favorite)

Do you want a beginner and advanced category?

If we go ahead with the contest, prizes will be determined. A cash prize is also possible if we have a registration fee to pay for it.

Please comment asap if interested.

If you conduct a contest then I would like to participate. I would go with a Dutch style.
I wish more participation but if not we can keep a "Free for all" (everyone picks their favorite).

I'm up for it and a Dutch or Free for all works for me too :)

I'm interested in a free-for-all with beginner/advanced categories.

I'm probably in the minority but I only have one tank and would never rescape it radically to meet some contest objective. If I can enter the contest with what I have, perhaps tweaked up a bit, and if family obligations aren't an issue then I'll enter something. Otherwise I'll just be an observer as in the past.

I don't know what class my tank would be but likely Jungle or Dutch-ish.

I've done a serious trimming and cleaning lately and I'll post pics in my journal sometime this week.

I'm with Kris and Jim. I'd like to go back to the old free-for-all with beginner and advanced categories.

I *do* however enjoy learning from the efforts of entrants into these contests and enjoy the pleasing results!

Sounds great!!!. So do we have to post the build pictures and everyone is starting from scratch or can we submit photos of older tanks for the competition?

Tank has to exist in the current year, so an established (old) tank is ok. An old picture is not ok. I'd like the free for all with the beginner and advanced categories.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
