February meeting topic

Post by Aaron »

Jamie (HOAGART) has volunteered to have the Feb. meeting at his place. We still need a meeting topic though. He mentioned to me the possibility of scaping his tank?

Any other ideas. All those field trips sound nice, but those will take some time to get planned.

I was FASCINATED by the carnivorous plants.

Any chance of a field trip to the greenhouse when the weather gets warmer fur a purchasing trip? gotta save up for new obsession.

In fact, maybe we get together for a field tirp to a Marlyand fen for some collecting>! Perhaps Michael would lead the expedition?

scaping or trimming is my vote for next month. The field trips sound fun. collecting would be pretty cool, good idea Mark

Scaping and trimming sounds good.

Ghazanfar, I forgot to ask last Saturday where you got the really long handled trimming tools? I need a pair of snips to reach the anubias at the bottom of my deep tank.

Cheers.

OK heres what we have to work with if we decide to rescape my tank .. 72 gallons of collectoritis

would it be easier if I start to pull out some stuff the week of the meeting so the water is clear(er) ?

Im really not too sure of the h20 parameters, i cant afford the upper end kits, and cant seem to get the low end ones to register ..
Ph is around 6.5 give or take .. Kh is 3,
I just got done battling green water last week ( that is the first time I have ever had that) this is the best it has looked in a week and a half

I would think you could just leave it until the meeting. We totally redid Cristy's tank in just a few hours. It's amazing what you can get done when you have extra hands. :)

I'd just make sure that you have plenty of buckets on hand for plants, fish, wood/rocks, etc. If you don't have any, solicit on here for some folks to bring them. I rescaped my 75G a few months ago, and needed 2 rubbermaid tubs, and 2 5G buckets to hold stuff while I worked.

Do you have scaping tools like scissors and tweezers? I can bring some if not.

Also, do you have a Python?
