I’ll be there. Bringing Marlene’s filled cupcakes.

Re: Buildmyled.com
Has anyone talked with Nick about BML's new XB line of LEDs? The extra brightness should be great for foreground plants in larger tanks I should think.

Re: Building an aquarium stand
Pine is fine and isn't blotchy if you get good quality stock to start with. Talk with your instructor. My dad and I made all my stands furniture quality from both pine and from hardwood vernier plywood. My 30 gallon sits on a pine Colonial style piece we made back in the 70's with no structural supp...

Raising Cory sterbai fry
Anyone have any experience raising Cory. sterbai fry in a community tank? I have two pairs of sterbai laying eggs all over the tank. Inhabitants are 9 sterbai and about 30 Tanichthys micagemmae in a moderately planted 110. So far the Tanichthys are not interested, but I fear that's just a matter of ...

Re: Buildmyled.com
I installed the replacement LED's from Buildmyled.com, and I do like the new color spectrum better. It is warmer. The Reds look more brick red than purple-y. As an added bonus, BBA does not show up as much under the "aquaflora/midday imitiation" light. BBA does show up much more under the...

Re: CO2 systems, lighting, substrate for planted aquarium
Welcome aboard Nandan. I agree with what Kris says. He's got loads of experience with this. Regarding lighting, I subscribe to the "You can never have too much light" school for 2 reasons. 1. Most aquarium plants grow in full all-day sun in their native habitat, in and out of the water. Si...

In my smaller tanks I just feed the end of the co2 tubing in between the slits of the intake strainer of the filter.

R O unit recommendations
I'm on well water and over the last year or so I've noticed my water is starting to get harder. (About the time the new development starting going into the farm next door.). Anyway, I know it will affect the chemistry of my tanks over time as it's already starting to affect my orchids. I'm starting ...
