Sumps are good for adding oxygen to the water due to the wet/dry nature of the sump and a larger amount of nitrifying bacteria, etc. Most have issues with sumps and C02 but just turning up the gas can fix this problem, the other is some type of failure where all the water from the tank and sump hits...

I think I'd agree with that and it's not critical, good reflector do pay out in a big way if you have the room around them to allow the reflection. My Coralife fixture is so cramped with bulbs it reflects almost nothing and this makes the light look dim and yellow.

I'm new here but plan on attending the metting if the weather is fair, I would like to ride my motorcycle to keep the cost down with cash being tight and I'm going to need it for inverts & plants. So you can put me down as one to attend.

I'll bring salt for the leaches!!!!

I have 31 Rummynosed Tetra, Oto's, Cherry Barbs, etc. and all these would make good tank mates with shrimp in a well planted tank, and imo Rummys are the best schooling fish. I think you would be wise to stay with fish that max out at 1.5 to 2 inches to keep a healthy population of shrimp. My tank h...

I know this is not a quick response but, I think a level of 0.1 ppm of Fe should be good for most plants and anything more would be high. I use Flourite as my substrate and although it is very old it seems to hold iron well and I find with too much Fe I'll start to have issues with Thread algae, thi...

I make a wet solution of Plantex + CSM by adding 1 tablespoon to 500 ml of water with 1 teaspoon of MgS04 with 5 ml of Excel to stop mold growth, I dose 15ml per 50 gallons of water of this solution as my Micro Ferts. I found putting Plantex in the fridge causes some of it to crystalize and fall out...

That was a great video, not sure if it was a fight or mating, but I've never seen that before. I had over 10 Hillstream loaches of different varieties and yours are nice, you called it a Tiger is that the same as the reticulated?? Really cool. I can't find them locally anymore, where are you getting...

I alway like to use the Kelvin scale just like I would with a camera, 3000 to 4000 sunrise or sunset on a clear day, 5000 to 6500 clear blue sky in the heat of the day, 6500 to 8000 a moderately overcast sky, 9000 to 10k shade to heavily overcast skies. I know 10k bulb will grow plants but I'm using...

What size is your tank, 150w of lighting could be your problem. I have 'rubin' and have had other swords with a 50% flourite substrate and never had a nutrient problem.
